The authors carried out the mass-examination of tuberculosis on the employees of a certain factory and isolated a strain of atypical acid-fast bacilli with unusual biological charactors from sputa of a male worker, whose x-ray picture presented a shadow suspicious of tuberculosis infection but who had no selfconcious symptoms. The patient was kept under observation for a considerably long period of time. The study was intended to investigate its cultural and immunological characteristics and pathogenicity.
